Press Metal Berhad was incorporated on May 13, 1986 under the name of Press Metal Aluminium Industries Sdn Bhd. It was subsequently converted into a public listed company on January 26, 1993 and was listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange on August 4, 1993. On August 11, 1999 it was transferred to the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, which has since been renamed to Bursa Malaysia.

Since its humble beginning in a rented factory in Puchong producing an extrusion capacity of 100 metric tonnes per annum from its two small extrusion presses i.e. 350 metric tonnes and 500 metric tonnes, Press Metal has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of aluminium extrusion in Malaysia with stable subsidiaries and activities ranging from contracting, fabricating and installation of development and environment engineering. The main factory located in Jalan Kapar, Klang is equipped with modern equipments which are constantly being upgraded to achieve optimum production efficiency and highest consistency in quality.

Press Metal is the first aluminium extruder in Malaysia to be awarded the internationally recognized MS ISO 9002 certification from SIRIM in 1993. Quality remains the main emphasis in all the Press Metal’s production and management system and strictest possible control system is carried out right from raw material stage until the stage before the aluminium products are delivered. This is not only to satisfy the ever increasing demands from the local market but also to compete in the export markets.
